Enemy Types , Weapons, and Animations | Tech Discussion


New Enemy Types:

  • Charger Enemy
    • Behavior: will run straight towards player to launch a slam attack when in range, will then play a roar animation as it prepares for next attack
    • Hoping to add a lunge or jump attack to this enemy in the future
    • This enemy requires the player to be quick with their inputs to effectively dodge and attack the enemy during openings
  • Magic Enemy
    • Behavior: will approach the player when far away and will begin strafing at a medium range. Upon strafing enemy has a chance to launch a spell at the player. If the player closes distance and gets very close to the enemy they have a chance to dodge or melee attack the player
    • This enemy forces the player to either attack from range in a spell battle with the enemy or to close the distance and attack up close

New Animations:

  • Retrieved various animation assets from unreal store from the free paragon character packs
    • Working on splicing together attacks from these packs to create fluid attacks and combos for player and enemies

New Enemy Spell

  • New spell added for enemy class to use: It is a magic dagger projectile launched from the enemy hands

New Material

  • Added new holographic material for spells that gives them a more mystical look

New Enemy Weapons

  • Lightning fist
  • Sickle
  • both use existing animations sets at the moment but can be changed at anytime as I grab more animation assets
